Accelerated BSN Courses
Avila University’s Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program consists of 61 credits of coursework, including 60 hours of skills lab and 585 hours of supervised clinical practicum and simulation experiences in our state-of-the-art facilities. This program’s accelerated BSN courses equips you to pursue initial licensure as a generalist registered nurse (RN).
Outcomes
As a graduate of this program, you will:
- Select and use effective and facilitative communication techniques to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care with emphasis on patient safety and positive professional working relationships.
- Perform professional role competencies with an emphasis on the roles of provider of care, designer, manager, or coordinator of care, and member of the interprofessional team.
- Integrate clinical reasoning and evidence-based decision making to deliver patient-centered care in a changing practice environment.
- Demonstrate personal knowledge, spirituality, and cultural humility in socially and globally responsible healthcare.
Curriculum
The ABSN is a four-semester program for students with 60 or more prior college credits, an associate degree, or a bachelor’s degree in a field other than nursing. It can be completed in as few as 16 months. It blends direct teaching, active learning in laboratories, and supervised clinical experiences.
